i have that crazy "lady marmalade" song in my head now and cant seem to stop visualizing that aweful music video with christina aguilara from like 2000 or 2001.

anywho.
i so enjoyed this session.
these sisters are beautiful and so much fun to be around.
they actually found this cool old building with the porch so i have a new spot for sessions.
woohoo.
super excited about that.

how to change a flat tire.

my mom had a tire blow out this morning on the way back home from houston and i got a flat tire this afternoon on the way to a graduation party.
you see, my mom and i are cool like that:) we like to hang out and get flat tires on the same day and whatnot.
i called my dad to tell him because my husband isnt exactly the handiest man on earth (handsome? yes. handy? not so much) and he was all "you have got to be kidding me." and i was all "nope."
it all worked out great though because two super amazingly nice men pulled over to help me change the tire.
they wouldnt even let me pay them but i know that they will be repaid somehow anyways.
i am a big believer in that.
what goes around comes around.

anyways. i think everyone should know how to fix a flat so how about you all go check this out and learn how to and next time your tire decides to pop on the interstate or go flat in a parking lot you can change it all by yourself and then call me and tell me how wonderful i am for sharing this link with you:)

here are a few images taken last week at a just for fun type of session.
she is going to be a senior next year at the same high school that i graduated from 8 years ago and it kills me because the girls at the school have such self esteem issues!!! i know i sure did when i was there but now that i am out i just want to slap them all and say "honey! snap out of it! you are beautiful!"
hopefully she will she how beautiful she really is when she sees how she looks from my point of view.

this isnt technically perfect. it is a little out of focus but i love it anyways. she has such a great smile and i am a big fan of wind in the hair.

i read that little quote somewhere recently and i think it pretty much sums up the last few weeks of my life.
i have had a very stressful month but i have met some really great people through work and have made some super great new friends.

i hate cellphones.

so as i posted last week i dropped my phone in the toilet.
my phone was replaced though within two days of the incident because of the insurance policy that my plan came with but i was told that i was no longer covered after the toilet incidence due to too many replacements.

well.....dont you know some A-hole decided she liked my cellphone a little too much when i accidentally left it in the target dressing room today.
totally my fault for dropping it in there but i would never ever ever not return something like that!
so...here is a little run down...
lost/stolen cell phone.
no insurance.
no way in hell paying 400 dollars for a new one.
currently using hand me down phone of cousins from 2005.
lost all contact info.
so if you are my friend and you love me and i actually talk to you on the phone i would really appreciate it if you would call me this week so i can get your number back in my contacts list:)

anyways.
good news is targets hoodies were half off today so i got a really cute hoodie for really cheap.
i may hate cellphones but i love me some hoodies!
also a friend introduced me to itunes radio this week and i have been listening to the 90s alternative music station all night. i love this stuff. bringing back the old high school memories.

a senior boy from last week.....

snakes and dog pee.

i had a very adventurous session last week with two senior girls.
we took a few photos around one of their homes then we hit up downtown then we drove to a beautiful home out of the "city" :)
we wanted to take a few photos on the dock at our last location where they have a great little lake but i saw a huge snake the second i stepped foot near the water.
i am not exaggerating either. i have proof.

needless to say we didnt hang around the dock too long.
i would usually consider myself a pretty outdoorsy kind of girl. i dont freak out over bugs too much but i do hate spiders. i am deathly afraid of them and snakes and this snake really really freaked me out.
my entire body was in this super tense state of shock for the rest of the afternoon.
my back wouldnt relax and i would just shutter uncontrollably every few minutes.
ugh. my back is getting all tense just talking about it.

i absolutely love this image. the light was awesome here and the movement in her hair is perfect with her expression and her big pouty lips. the color is great too. i just love everything about it. my kind of photo:)

i was super pumped when we drove up to the home and saw this rope swing. i have been wanting to use one of these in a session forever.

their dog definitely peed on my camera bag and i totally busted him in the act.
he better be lucky he was cute and i like dogs because if he were a cat it would have been a different story.
i am not a cat girl.

her skin is like silk. it really does look like this in real life:)

and here is one of the girls together. they are actually cousins and they have some pretty sick gorgeous dna floating around in that family....

and if i ever do get a studio that image is going to be HUGE on my wall.

i have a fabulous idea.
how about instead of investing tons of money into designing all of these fancy pants cell phones that light up and look pretty and sing songs and have touch screens.....and instead....instead...... make a freaking phone that doesnt break in half EVERY single time i drop it!!!!
or even better....how about you make it water proof so that when i drop it in the toilet or when my son decides to EAT IT it wont break either.
that would be great!

so at&t has dropped me from my cell phone insurance plan thing because i have had my cell phone replaced one too many times. ugh. whatever. i know i totally deserve it.

anywho.
here is a gawgeous senior girl that i photographed a few weeks ago and somehow forgot to blog. i have no idea how i did forget because i love all of her photos but this is what happens when you have too much caffeine and too little sleep:)

the session that i totally screwed up by double booking.

here is the other two seniors guys that were part of the mix up that caused my meltdown this past weekend.
it was both good and bad that the whole mess up happened for these two groups.....good because they were so cool about the whole thing and bad because they were both one of my favorite sessions of the year and it just sucks that it happened to such great people. its all good now though and we had sooo much fun.
photographing boys isnt usually my thing because they just arent in to having their photos taken like girls but these guys were so funny and laid back. ive always gotten along a lot better with guys anyways for the most part. plus it was nice to not hear them all complain about how fat they were or how frizzy their hair was. that is all we girls do! we are always our worst critics:)

so here we go.....

he kept singing "mister dali lamas" "mister dali lamas" the ENTIRE session. i guess that is the only words he could remember from the song but anyways i had never really ever heard of citizen cope before but now that song he was singing, BULLET AND A TARGET, is my new fave. i downloaded it yesterday morning on itunes and i believe the play count is up to 30 already.

meltdown.

i officially had a meltdown this morning.
i realized on the way to my daughters dance revue this morning that i had somehow double booked sessions for this afternoon. it was a HUGE mix up and i can never quite tell you all how this happened or how very sorry i am but DONA, ANNA, HETTIE & BLAINE let me just say that I LOVE YOU! thank you so much for being so incredibly kind and understanding.
also...sorry about the uncontrollable crying on the phone. its just a thing i do and i can not hold it in.

well i did end up at least photographing one of the session this afternoon and it was awesome.
i could tell it was going to be a very interesting few hours when we started off like this.....

....apparently someone forgot to shave before his session:)

and then the moms had this great idea for a photo op with the two boys kind of "walking off into the future"
and being that one of the guys is going to play college football and the other is going to play college baseball we thought it fitting to have the bat and ball in there like so.....

but funny guy had other plans for the photo.

he is VERY secure in his manhood:)

these boys are quite studly i might add.

cellphone + toilet = :(

so i dropped my cell phone in the toilet today and it will be out of commission until i can replace it hopefully monday afternoon.

so first off i want to share a fun little pic from last weekend.

i love love love it.
want to know why?
because magically this photo has taken 20 pounds off my body instead of adding the ten or so that a camera supposedly adds on. i must admit though that i was trying REALLY hard to look skinny in that pic.
it makes me all sorts of happy anyways and im going to go ahead and pretend that i really look like that too.
anywho.
that is me in the front with the beautiful bride, katie marie, and some of my best friends from high school.
i miss those peeps.
i can not believe we graduated 8 years ago. i feel old.

now on to more imortant things.
here is ada. ms hottie mc hot hot.

she is my cousin so i had an especially good time at her session.
if i asked her to do something and she didnt want to i could just yell at her "andrea! youre going to do it and youre going to like it!"
it was great:)

shes going to hate me for that but oh well. i like it.
